Glass is a brittle material with low tensile strength. Because the strength of brittle materials largely depends on the surface structure. The surface of the glass appears complete and smooth, but there are actually a large number of microcracks. Under tensile stress, microcracks initially expand and then rupture from the surface. Therefore, if the influence of these surface microcracks can be eliminated, the tensile strength may be significantly improved. Tempering is a method of eliminating the influence of surface microcracks, which places the surface of glass under strong compressive stress. In this way, only when the external tensile stress acting on the surface of the glass exceeds this compressive stress, can the glass possibly crack.
1. Generally, tempered glass can be washed directly with water. It is better to use distilled water with higher purity for washing. Remember that reused water cannot be used for cleaning tempered glass, but collision should be avoided during the cleaning process, which also has a good protective effect on tempered glass.
2. In daily life, it is inevitable to get dirt and oil stains on the glass. We all know that oil and water are insoluble, so we can apply a small amount of kerosene on the glass to dry the oil stains. The paint on glass is a major headache for people, and wiping it with a cloth dipped in a small amount of vinegar can have a good effect. Usually, when we clean glass, we can dip it in chalk and gray water, and the effect is also very good after wiping the glass.
3. Tempered glass doors may show signs of blackening after a good period of use. When cleaning them, we need to use a small amount of toothpaste before the tempered glass, which will make the tempered glass doors and windows transparent and clean. When painting the walls in the interior decoration of a new home, people often accidentally dip Limewater on the glass. The dried matter of Limewater cannot be easily removed with a wet cloth. At this time, fine sand will play a very good role. Dip a small amount of sand on the wet cloth, and gently wipe the glass, it will be easy to remove the lime spots.
